Text message (SMS) program

What the program is

Gadabout (gadabout.world) watches travel bookings you register and alerts you when the price of your exact flights drops enough to be worth acting on. Our SMS program is a strictly opt-in channel that delivers those alerts by text: fare-drop notifications and trip-service messages for trips you have registered. It is an account-notification and customer-care program — not a marketing or promotional program. Gadabout is the sole sender; we do not send third-party or affiliate marketing over SMS.

How you opt in

Opt-in happens inside your own Gadabout account — there is no way to be enrolled without taking these steps yourself:

  1. Sign in at gadabout.world and open Preferences (the account settings page).
  2. In the Text messages section, enter your mobile number.
  3. Check the SMS consent box. It is unchecked by default; you must actively check it to consent. The box sits directly next to the consent language and the required disclosures.
  4. Press Save preferences. Your consent and its timestamp are recorded on your account.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of using Gadabout or of any purchase. You can remove your number or uncheck the box in Preferences at any time.

Consent language & disclosures

The consent checkbox reads, verbatim:

“I agree to receive automated text-message fare-drop and trip-service alerts from Gadabout at the number above. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.”

Directly beneath the checkbox we display the program disclosures, verbatim:

“Msg & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

The same disclosures appear in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, both linked from the opt-in screen.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on the trips you have registered and on real price movement — typically a small number of messages per trip, and none at all on days when nothing worth acting on happens. We do not send recurring bulk campaigns.

Sample messages

Messages identify Gadabout as the sender and link to the relevant trip. For example:

Gadabout: Your DL1234 JFK–LAX fare dropped about $180 vs. what you paid — likely recoverable as a Delta eCredit (not cash). Next steps: gadabout.world/t/abc123 Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Opting out & getting help

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe; you will receive a single confirmation and no further texts. Reply HELP for help information and our support contact. You can also remove your number in Preferences, or email hello@gadabout.world for any question about the SMS program.

Your mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone except as needed to deliver the messages themselves (our SMS carrier partner) or as required by law.
